Question:
How to deal with multiple versions of expedite when placing a bid package?
•
Answer:
Dealing with Multiple Versions of Expedite
PennDOT uses Expedite Version 5.7a. No other state uses Version 5.7a.
You must open the PennDOT project specific data file in 5.7a. If it is opened in a different version from another state, the file will not be readable when submitted to PennDOT and the bid will be rejected.
Recommended Steps:
1. Download the EBS file from the bid package and SAVE then CLOSE – do not open at this point. If you press the “open” button, the file will associate itself with the LAST VERSION of Expedite that you had opened.
2. Open Expedite 5.1a and verify that it is version 5.1a by using the Expedite toolbar and selecting “Help”, then “About Bid”.
3. Then select “File” followed by “Open Proposal”.
4. Remember to save.
5. Whenever opening the Expedite File, always open the Expedite 5.1a FIRST before opening the data file.
