Design Build Preliminary Engineering• Question:
Often there is not enough geotechnical data available for consultants to provide an accurate bid (is each team expected to do their own borings/evaluation)?

• Answer:
It is the goal of a design-build package to contain sufficient boring information that will not require the short listed teams to perform extensive borings. Core borings and preliminary geotechnical reports should be done during Preliminary (Conceptual) Design and this data provided to the Design-Build Teams in the Bid Proposal.
