Description

The Projects home page is part of the Project Services subsystem and is used to search for existing Projects. Links on the page also allow authorized users to create new projects. The Create New Project link is used to create new ECMS projects. The Create New Local Project link is used to create a new local (non-ECMS) project.

The search function on the Projects home page allows users to search by various project elements, including Project Number, Design Project Manager, District, County, SR, Section, Project Status, Federal Project Number (FPN), State Project Number (SPN), and MPMS Number. The results are displayed on a new web page, from which the user may select the specific ECMS screen they wish to view.
Note:In order to search for local projects, the user mustchoose the Local Project Type. If this Project Type is not designated, the search will applied to ECMS projects only. When Local Project Type is chosen, the search is applied to Local (non-ECMS) projects only.

To search for an existing project, the user enters a key (e.g., Project Number) in one or more of the available search fields and clicks the Search for Projects button. If no search criteria are entered and the user clicks the Search for Projects button, all ECMS projects are displayed in the results. Due to the volume of data, it is recommended that users always enter at least one search criterion.

The Projects home page can be accessed by all $ECMS users; access is granted to a limited number of $ECMSBP users to allow navigation to certain project screens. Refer to the online Users Dictionary for a complete list. The "create" link, which allows the user to create a new Project is only available to Design Management users (i.e., Portfolio Manager, ADE for Design).

The Projects home page is accessed when the user selects the "Project Home Page" option beneath "Project Services" on the navigation bar.
